In June, I shared with you what I observed in common with building a Habitat House and building your sales.

 

This month, let's talk about three tools that can help you build your sales:

 

Use the TAP formula:

 

Teamwork - The phrase, "Two heads are better than one" is appropriate when planning your sales. Working with a team on the Habitat house made everything go so much smoother. There was always someone there to help me with a tool or give guidance on how to complete a task.

 

Who can give you support and input on your sales plan and sales calls? Whom can you help? You can set up a group that meets on a regular basis to help each other.

 

Attitude - While working on the Habitat House, maintaining a good attitude made it much easier. Many of us were working on tasks we had never done before. Diving right in and expecting it to work made a huge difference and the day flew by.

 

The task of sales is the same. When my husband was in the Air Force, one of their principles was "Your attitude determines your altitude." Your sales results depend on your attitude.

 

Persistence - Most sales people give up calling on a prospect after one call. Making sales takes persistence. Most sales are closed after the fifth or sixth call.  Louis Pasteur, the famous scientist who developed pasteurization said," Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal: my strength lies solely in my tenacity."

 

Some salespeople slow down in the summer due to vacation and family obligations; however, keep the TAP formula in mind to boost your sales this summer.

Of course, you want to vacation, swim and play golf this summer. You can also use time to get ready for the busy fall with some personal development.
