The Sales Connection is a newsletter designed for you to gain insight and practical tips for your sales career. My name is Kathy Garland and my company, Quanta Partners, offers tools and motivation for you to find and keep more customers.



SALES TIP OF THE MONTH: A DIFFERENT TAKE ON GRATITUDE

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and loved ones. This is typically the season of gratitude where we give thanks for our blessings.

One of the most important principles in attracting the perfect clients for you is to focus on gratitude. This holiday season focus on what you are grateful for to attract more of that.

Be grateful for what you will receive

My different take on gratitude is to be grateful for what's coming to you in 2007. Here are some things on my list I am grateful will happen for me in 2007:

  • Continued business growth and success
  • Deeper relationships with clients
  • Deeper relationships with family and friends
  • Learning/growth for myself, my business and my clients
  • Exciting travel
  • Health and happiness.

Make a list of what you are thankful for that will come your way in 2007. Keep it in front of you and refer to it often. Make sure that you feel the feelings of gratitude as you look at this list. That puts the energy out there that you want to attract these things into your life.

Be grateful for what you will give

Another way to bring prosperity into your life is to be grateful for what you will be able to give in 2007. You have many talents and resources. Feel gratitude for the time, wisdom, money and other resources you will give in 2007 to improve the lives of others or enable someone to more fully live their potential.

You most likely contribute to the needs of organizations that strengthen our social structure such as the church, non-profits to help overcome poverty, homelessness, abuse, addictions and organizations to raise money to protect the environment.

You can also give of your time by joining an organization like Big Brothers and Big Sisters, volunteer to help a colleague with a business issue and numerous other ways that others can benefit from your gifts.

Also, notice that you can really make a difference for others by showing your support. Do you need to be more supportive of your spouse, your children, your parents, your neighbors? This too is an important way to give in 2007.

Life is a cycle of giving and receiving. Sometimes you will give more than your receive and sometimes you will receive more than you give. The key is to be your best and be grateful for everything that comes into your life.

Be thankful and grateful for all that is coming to you and all that you will give in 2007. Warm wishes for a wonderful holiday season!
